Solo show by Eric Gaskell ARBSA
About
Covid and it's lock-down had a big effect on Eric Gaskell’s art. His work started to change, at first taking a simple, graphic route - then gradually becoming more about colour, pattern, and design. This change started when he began to collect and reuse ideas from earlier linocuts; their textures, shapes, patterns, and the ideas that he thought worked. Taking these ideas he redrew them, collaging them together and combining them into new compositions. These linocuts, that had benefitted from earlier work, would now help to develop new pieces. All the work in this show was created in this manner.
