Coastal Gallery in Lymington has announced its 2013 exhibition programme, beginning the year with Colour and Light. The exhibition explores the relationship between colour and light through a new series of contemporary abstract paintings and photographs by local artists including Jane Emberson, Stewart Mechem, Bev Saunders, Anne Toase and Claire Wiltsher
Coastal Gallery comments on the new work by Jane Emberson:
"Jane's magical abstract works feel truly alive. Her imagery has a fantastic, organic quality and each canvas bursts with energy and colour"
Jane has been a Coastal Gallery artist since 2009, and 2012 has seen her exhibit work at the Affordable Art Fairs in both London and New York.
Stewart Mechem, Bev Saunders, Anne Toase and Claire Wiltsher are also Coastal Gallery artists whose work is permanently available in the Gallery. Stewart௿½s vibrant paintings and and Bev ௿½s subtly ambiguous abstract images are inspired by colours of the sea, beach huts and fishing boats. Anne௿½s subtle abstract studies of the Jurassic coastline, and Claire௿½s atmospheric seascapes capture the colour and light unique to the Hampshire and Dorset. Coast.
On 14 February 2013 Coastal Gallery is hosting a Private View Brunch at 11.00 am, followed by an open day until 6.30pm. The artists and Gallery owners will be present to discuss their latest works.
