About
Unit 1 Gallery is pleased to announce its first exhibition, a mixed media display of artworks created by artists and collaborators Jelena Bulajić and Stacie McCormick. For more than two years of knowing each other, the artists have created works driven by their individual practices, as well as works mutually inspired, finding a collaborative expression in what seems an unlikely pair.
On exhibit will be new works created by both artists, as well as a limited edition handmade book of McCormick’s poetry accompanied by Bulajić’s drawings. Bulajić will exhibit her now celebrated large portraits alongside a courageous new yet to be seen landscape. McCormick will exhibit a series of photographs exploring her long fascination with undiscovered/unexamined beauty through photography. A vitrine entitled “Archive of an Experience” will display some of the more playful and crossover elements of shared experiences and eccentricities between the two artists over the 2.5 year relationship.
