Cambridge-based art collective, Motion Sickness rebounds with a new exhibition for the new academic year
About
Collective Rebound is a group exhibition showcasing sculpture, installation, performance, photography, painting and more from artists involved in the invigilation of previous exhibitions in the project space since August 2019.
Collective Rebound seeks to explore the tensions, demands and challenges inherent in living in a rapidly changing world that includes the multiple expressions of balance or its absence, which can range from abstract to representational, psychological to social, whimsical and poetic to political commentary.
Drawing on Le Chatelier’s principle or Equilibrium Law where any change in status quo prompts an opposing reaction in the responding system; the artists utilise their mediums to communicate the sensorial reality of their tumult while also rebounding to embrace the elegance and pleasure that can be gleaned amongst the commotion.
“Art, in itself, is an attempt to bring order out of chaos” (Stephen Sondheim).
Cambridge-based art collective, Motion Sickness, has opened its project space for 19 artists to curate and exhibit their own work.
