Make music and connect with locals in a drumming circle held amidst the exhibition.
About
Staffordshire St invites you to a family friendly workshop led by Community Drumming, as part of our exhibition Stove by a Whale.
This free workshop will introduce participants to the history and significance of Afro-Brazillian drumming to communities.
There will then be an hour’s drumming session, where you’ll learn about different types of drumming, and some basic drumming techniques, rhythms and patterns.
The workshop will draw to a close with a collective drumming session.
The session will be the perfect activity for families with children to enjoy a musical afternoon. So bring down those noisy little ones, to drum amid the giant shipwreck installation of Stove by a Whale!
