In Alex Heard’s workshop we will be taking on a playful approach to sculpting with cardboard as a group, and developing drawings in response to the sculpture.
About
WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
In Alex's second Thursday Evening workshop in the studio, we will be taking on a playful approach to drawing, building a scene out of cardboard together which will then be an active, moving subject for us to draw from. We will be collaboratively building a large structure together, seeing where our collective intuitions guide us, and then drawing from the structure. Translating between sculpture and drawing will allow us to zone in on small sections of the structure or otherwise allow us to sketch out an expansive view of it.
Materials are included.
Format: Our Thursday evening series of workshops will focus on extending drawing through low-tech, low cost, DIY techniques. The creatives leading each workshop are young and emerging, yet each is working in a strong and accomplished way with their approach and materials.
