Assemblage is the fifth solo show in Wales by the artist Colin Williams.
About
Raised in Llandudno, Wales, and now living in New York, Williams’s exhibition stems from a correlation of three artworks, that were previously exhibited at the Mostyn gallery. In order to explore other possibilities within this body of work, Colin decided to dismantle the artworks components, and reassemble their segments for his exhibition here at MOMA Machynlleth.
The resulting creation is a combination of abstract colour and careful construction, that plays with its slippage between the concepts of Painting and Sculpture, Construction and Deconstruction, Symmetry and Asymmetry, Minimalism and Maximalism.
