Colin F. Graham presents 'A Retrospective': an exhibition of 35 selected works that charter an artistic career spanning over half a century. Foremost this exhibition is a celebration of previous achievements, but 'A Retrospective' also introduces Graham's most recent pieces and insinuates developments for future works.
It is difficult to accurately sum up the signature style of the artist. Preferring to continually develop his craft, Graham's works have welcomed varied mediums and techniques with skilled applomb - recent works notably veer toward the abstract with cubist undertones whilst past works in general have been more representational in aesthetic. Despite these obvious disparagies one element that evidently informs the artists work is an appreciation of and a passion for the role of drawing. Whilst viewing the collection one is able to detect this underlining simplicity of drawing technique that is conveyed even throughout the more obscure works.
