Africa in Motion is thrilled to invite you to our new FREE film and event series! We will be co-hosting a small takeover of Filmhouse (Edinburgh) on May 15th from 14:00 until 20:00, followed by an after-party gathering at the nearby SKYBar rooftop space
About
This inaugural event in partnership with BeUnited is for our new ‘Coconut & Cane’ series, which aims to strengthen ties within the Black diaspora through film, poetry, music and food. It will tackle the lack of representation in the creative industries by developing opportunities to watch films and meet those already succeeding in relevant fields.
- 14:00 Screening + discussion: Lingui, The Sacred Bonds (2021, Chad) by Mahamat-Saleh Haroun in partnership with KWISA Women’s Association and the African & Caribbean Elders in Scotland community group.
- 18:00 Screening + discussion: Foresight Short Films in partnership with Channel 4.
