This exhibition brings together two artists who are strongly inspired by the same experiences of engaging with nature; this show is a powerful and emotional response through contemporary painting.
Angela Charles' paintings are inspired by her surroundings, predominantely the land and sea between her home in South Somerset and the Dorset Coast. Working from quick pen sketches bought back to her studio she begins to work on her memory of the place and her feelings whilst there, rather than a direct representation of the landscape.
Rebecca McLynn is interested in wild nature and travels to remoter, unspoilt locations, both inland and coastal, to collect and record detail. Inspired by aspects of nature and the power that wild locations and un-tamed weather has over the emotions and feeling of wellbeing.
