Clouds Of Grass

The feet in the grass, the look into the sky. Amorphous structures set themselves down in white against the distant background, appearing light and difficult at the same time. We think we can see something that is over in the next moment and goes on, opaque and seductive.

A story in Chinese mythology tells of the sky goddess Zhi Nu, who was able to weave seamless brocade robes from clouds. The story after weathered her from fine Dunstwolken tapestries, which can still be seen today in the evening and dawn. Decorate the clouds, the grass clothes the earth. In between, a space opens up to which we want to approach and in which we try to locate.

Under the title Cloud of Grass, students of the Textile Arts class show Prof. Caroline Achaintre of the Burg Giebichenstein Art Academy her works at the Kunstverein am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz in Berlin.
