About
Claudia Wieser is a Berlin-based artist (b. 1973) who creates drawings, sculptures, wall installations and tapestries based on the principle of geometric abstraction. Her works utilize many plastic materials like mirror, copper, ceramic, wood, and paper; she also draws on architecture, handicrafts, and techniques from the Art and Craft Movement in her practice.
Her recent shows include a site - specific installation in Brooklyn Bridge Park, NY, commissioned by Public Art Fund NY as well as a solo show at SMART Museum of the Arts, University of Chicago (2020), at the Bemis Center for Contemporary Art, Omaha (2020), Marianne Boesky Gallery NY (2018), Kunsthalle Hamburg (group show) and Palais Populaire, Berlin (2021)
