A new body of work for the summer season, in Wiltsher's highly recognisable energetic style.
About
The expressive application of Claire Wiltsher’s paint perfectly portrays the energy and wilderness of her subject matter, while fluid mark-making threads across each canvas with a sense of natural turbulence. The skillful use of her brush captures a glint of sunlight on watery surface, or the dancing of branches as they shudder struck by the wind. The surface of her paint feels infused with both the nuances of nature and the fluctuating artistic temperament.
Born in Newport, Wales, Wiltsher completed her MA Fine art at Northumbria University, and currently has work in The House of Lords permanent collection. She is also winner of the ‘Rosemary and Co Award’ at the Society of Women Artists exhibition (Mall Galleries, 2010). With her purpose-built studio located in the New Forest, Hampshire, Wiltsher’s works are produced amidst the most inspiring of scenery.
Following a period of teaching, she has been solely focused on her artistic practice since 2009; her unique style recognized in London and across much of the South West, having exhibited widely for over 28 years.
