About

Visitors to the MA Show will have the opportunity to experience works of exceptional quality within the atmospheric exhibiting environment of Victorian studios and Georgian buildings, linked with a contemporary entrance foyer, designed by Alan Higgs Architects.

The exhibition features the work of 13 MA Fine Art students, developed out of the traditions of painting, sculpture, drawing and printmaking and celebrates individual dedication to research and the merging of the traditions of making with new materials, ideas and possibilities, resulting in innovative and engaging art practices.

MA Fine Art Year 1 students will also be exhibiting an interim show.

MA Conservation student Jeanne Callanan will be exhibiting her incredible conservation projects including an incredibly delicate, Chinese 19th century basket, exquisitly carved from ivory, which she has been conserving and researching the use of lasers for cleaning purposes. Meet Jeanne and find out about the fascinating conserving processes used.

Our four esteemed Artists in Residence will be exhibiting their eclectic range of work. John Greenwood, Katie Pratt, Jamie Shovlin and Takumi Kato have been working alongside our Fine Art students, developing their exhibition pieces in the Art School's generous, newly-developed studios whilst.

The current Art School Fellows and their varied work will be another highlight of the Show. Tuesday Riddell, Decorative Surfaces Fellow, will be showing her pieces featuring varied decorative techniques such as japanning. Gabrielle Lockwood-Estrie and Caroline Jane Harris are both Print Fellows and will be exhibiting their work demonstrating different printing processes including intaglio techniques and aquatint and photo-etching processes.
