About

Circuit Breaker features a series of short films by artists who use new technologies in their work. Early pioneer Stan Van Der Beek used computers to create abstract and aesthetic experiences on screen, while in the 1990s Lyn Hershman Leeson looked at the wider social and philosophical implications of technology. Recent works by Cecile B. Evans, Jon Rafman and Rosa Aielo, and Jacolby Satterwhite explore similar themes in our current, technologically saturated, world.

Seduction of a Cyborg, Director Lyn Hershman-Leeson, 1994, France/USA, 8 min
Hyperlinks or It Didn’t Happen, Director Cecile B. Evans, 2014, 22 min 30 sec
Remember Carthage, Director Jon Rafman, 2013, 14 min
Healing in My House, Jacolby Satterwhite, 2016, 9min. 27 sec
Micro Cosmos 1-4, Director Stan Van Der Beek, 1983, 15 min

This is the latest screening in our Artist Film programme, presented in collaboration with the ICA as part of the Artist Moving Image Network, funded by Arts Council England.
