About
CIRCA, in collaboration with Black Cultural Archives, will present a curated selection of public submissions of memories of arrival from audiences connected to the Windrush Generation to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Windrush on Piccadilly Lights on Windrush Day, 22 June, 8pm.
The presentation on Windrush Day coincides with the current global screening of Arrival by Sir Frank Bowling OBE RA in celebration of 70 years since his arrival in the UK. Arrival is the first digital artwork by the artist and will screen ahead of the Windrush unveiling.
The Cultural Institute of Radical Contemporary Arts (CIRCA) is an art and culture platform with purpose. We stop the clock on global billboards every evening at 20:23 (local time), and mobilise the world’s greatest creative minds to broadcast unique works of art that consider our world circa now.
For more information and to share your memories of arrival, visit circa.art/arrival/. Deadline for submissions is 10 June 2023.
