L A Noble Gallery is delighted to announce an exhibition of photographs made in Japan by world-renowned Magnum photographer Chris Steele-Perkins.
Since the 1990's Steele-Perkins has worked heavily in Japan. Coinciding with his exploration of Japanese culture his work also began to examine the increasing encroachment upon and damage to the natural environment, as a result of human âprogress'.
For Steele-Perkins, as was the case for his predecessors, Mount Fuji becomes the embodiment of the natural world, which is shown in stark opposition to the human activities surrounding it.
In this exhibition Japan Suite, Steele-Perkins embraces these contradictions, from the beautiful to the absurd and the ancient to the modern.
Private View: RSVP by 18/11 to ensure attendance. Places limited!
