About
The work of three Chinese born artists, Zao Wou-Ki, Chu Teh-Chun and Tang Haiwen, who spent most of their professional careers working in Paris, comes together in exhibition, ‘Chinese abstraction in Paris’ at Aktis Gallery, London. Here, traditional Chinese painting mixes with western abstraction in a fusion where east meets west. A total of 23 works will be on show.
Aktis Gallery, based in St. James’ s London, has a focus on Russian émigré artists who emigrated to Paris in the first half of the 20th century as well as non-conformist and abstract artists of the Soviet era. To compliment these European painters, the gallery also house a growing collection of works by renowned Chinese artists living in Paris during the same period.
