Chester Arts Fair 2016 Returns, Showcasing Original Art

About

The Deepbridge Chester Arts Fair is delighted to announce a return for the fifth consecutive year at Chester Racecourse from 18th – 20th November 2016. The weekend has plenty in store for everyone from the arrival of independent, British and international artists and galleries with over 1,000 pieces of art on display to purchase.

New to the fair is the ‘Display Room’. A room designed for visitors to envision their chosen pieces of art in a setting that replicates the interior of a house. This is an opportunity for art collectors to express and bring their favoured art pieces to life.

The Fair will exhibit critically engaged art from a collective of leading contemporary artists from the UK and abroad. The area will feature a range of conceptual, abstract and figurative artwork bringing a new dimension of artistic representation to the Fair.

Building on success from the previous year,  the ‘New Artist’ area will be returning to the fair providing a platform for emerging artists to present their work and originality to a wider audience; all of which we are proud and delighted to support.

Art Fair Co-Director Laura O’Hare states 'As the biggest visual art show in the region, the Fair will present an exclusive collection of world renowned art by Picasso, Lowry and Matisse, as well as, contemporary artists such as Damian Hurst and Anthony Gormley. Chester Arts Fair is excited to be increasing the live art programmes and continuing to incorporate a selection of sculptures, ceramics and glass work which will appeal to families and art enthusiasts alike.’

A full programme of live talks and demonstrations by well-recognized artists Peter Hill and Peter Aitchinson will offer visitors the opportunity to experience and gain an understanding of the process of creating art as well as the artists’ personal source of inspiration. A collection of magically haunting work by Anne Sudworth whose work is collected by the likes of Jonathan Ross and Nicholas Cage, will also be available for viewing and purchasing.

The dedicated children’s area will appeal to children of all ages, offering them a range of fun arts and crafts activities. A variety of hot and cold beverages and food will be available throughout the weekend at ‘The Turf’ café situated inside the building.

Chester Arts Fair will be launched on Friday 18th November with a Charity VIP Preview which will allow private buyers, interior designers, collectors, press and VIP’s the opportunity to view the collections in advance. The fair will then open for the general public on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th November from 10:30am to 17:00. For tickets visit www.chesterartsfair.co.uk or alternatively you can register to enter at the Fair on the day.
