About
Curator Christina Mitrentse invited artists to respond to the theme 'For Love of Chemistry' and to look at the aesthetic forms and their opposites within their practice. The exhibition promotes a dialogue among the disciplines of Chemistry and Visual Arts including artworks made using the mediums of wet plate collodion, photography, cyanotype, screen prints, installation, sculptural configurations, painting, digital prints, text video works, film & sound. Audiences are invited to celebrate images of intense sexual chemistry, interactive prints with mixed pheromones, sculptural installations made of growing crystals, very large microcosmic photographs, paintings depicting molecular structures and alchemical laboratories and a dedicated screening room featuring films about liquid forms, universe and drugs.
