CHA/V: Co-operative Human Audio Visual

About

LAST FRIDAY EVENT: 29TH APRIL 2011 CHA/V Co-operative Human Audio Visual 6.30 - 10pm Free Event, All welcome. Curated by Alex Tuckwood. A truly interactive affair for which Multi-media artist Alex Tuckwood and a team of media artists are extending an invitation to visitors that evening to bring along any disgarded technologies they would like to give a new lease of life. This includes old VHS films, slides projectors, Super 8, old records, cassettes.... anything which holds nostalgia that has fallen to the wayside as a result of the fast paced digital age. Come along and watch your old memories take on a new form. In the gallery we will be mixing and projecting a multi format audio visual experience. C.H. A / V aims to incorporate the local community in building a regular improvised Audio / Visual experience. The idea is to take a multitude of moving image and sound, then blending them live and ‘on the fly' to produce a new edge to old media. If you have an old Super 8mm film or some slides or your favourite VHS tape gathering dust… If you are interested in having a go at live mixing and editing… If you have a Super 8mm projector or film you've made or bought… Or maybe you want to just show up and soak up the ambience… We need YOU. A general call goes out for the following: à¯â€šŠ¸ VHS videos à¯â€šŠ¸ Slide projectors + slides à¯â€šŠ¸ Super 8mm films and projectors à¯â€šŠ¸ Vinyl records à¯â€šŠ¸ Audio Tapes à¯â€šŠ¸ Artist videos for the ‘Showcase Wall' please contact ajtuckwood@gmail.com This event will take place during South London Art Map's monthly LAST FRIDAYS which sees that late night opening of galleries across South London on the last Friday of the month.
