Charles Noble, Curator of Fine Arts of the Devonshire Collections, has been in charge of the celebrated Old Master Drawings collection at Chatsworth for over fifteen years. He was formerly a curator in the Royal Collection before joining Chatsworth in 1996.

About

In this lecture he will talk about the early period in which the drawings were collected by three successive dukes of Devonshire, referencing some of the drawings in Lines of Beauty: Master Drawings from Chatsworth. Charles will also reveal how the sharing of them with others has changed since they were acquired, and the long conservation programme that has led up to the current exhibition. Charles has lectured both in the UK and USA on a variety of fine art subjects.
