About
Chase the light…..
The most important component of a photograph is illumination. Its absence renders all subjects and images dull and flat.
Photographing in early morning or late afternoon light (The Golden Hours) can embolden an average composition into a memorable image. The Golden Hours are affordable to anyone who owns any camera or smart phone or just wants to enjoy the transformation over a few hours each day. During this period the light increases colour saturation, making subjects vivid, highlighting the colours and increasing form and depth to give a softer and warmer feel.
I try to keep my images simple. Capturing the beauty that lies in plain sight, by doing this it lifts the image off the page or screen. I hope it resonate and raise awareness of our world however near or far encouraging you to go out and see and capture it for yourself.
I’ve travelled extensively over the last few years chasing the perfect light, I’m glad I haven’t found it yet, as I’m in no hurry because I’m having such good fun looking.
