About
ronapainting gallery is pleased to present a new exhibition by Chase Marsden. This will be his second solo exhibition at the gallery and will coincide with Oxfordshire Artweeks.
Influenced by surrealism, psychedelia and aestheticism, Chase Marsden’s work covers multiple classical categorisations. Despite the artist prioritising aesthetics over concept, his drawings still evoke intense psychological involvement from the viewer. Unlike many psychedelically influenced artists, his work is done by hand, making their depth and detail even more impressive.
Marsden’s work is produced entirely with pen and pencil, taking inspiration from the likes of M.C. Escher and Chris Foss. Initially his focus had been predominantly on abstract oil painting, working under the guidance of Desmond Morris, but he has now specialised in high detail fine-liner work with a psychedelic science-fiction bend.
b. 1997, Oxford, England, Chase has received a degree in Art & Creative Writing at Bath Spa University.
