About

A weekend of performances, guides, talks and artworks at Chambers Farm Wood in Lincolnshire. Situated amongst Lincolnshire's historic woodlands, Charter of the Forest brings together six artists of which four have been commissioned to develop new work that draws upon the historic Charter of the Forest document, presented alongside existing video works which point towards key issues raised through the project. Often known as the ‘Charter of the Common Man', the Charter of the Forest provided new rights for ordinary people, permitting hunting, foraging and the free use of forestland. New artworks will explore the social, historical and natural impact of the charter document, whist also investigating our public use of woodlands today. Join us for a live weekend in August, which will see performances, talks, and guides to the individual artwork sites and enjoy a day out viewing this project amongst the tranquil Lincolnshire woodlands. Bring a picnic and join us at Chambers Farm wood picnic area to meet the artists and enjoy the Lincolnshire sunshine (or rain). Charter of the Forest at Chambers Farm Wood has been developed in partnership with The Collection and the Forestry Commission. Free coach travel to Chambers Farm Wood. Departs from outside The Collection, Danes Terrace, Lincoln at 11am and returns at 3pm. To book a place on the coach visit: http://charter.eventbrite.com/ Alternatively car parking is available on site.
