Emerson photographed Mount Fuji in an innovative new way which subtly alludes to the work of the legendary Ukiyo-e artists, most especially Hiroshige and Hokusai.
About
Emerson completed the same journey around Mt. Fuji multiple times to achieve the four viewpoints, North, East, South and WestThe final piece of the four viewpoints condensed into a single multiple exposure echoes both the idea of ‘the journey’ found in the Ukiyo-e works and is aesthetically a nod to the Impressionist painters who were so inspired by the Japanese wood cuts.
