Chantelle Wroblewska-Fairless: In the Round

About

Drawing inspiration from 'in the round' staging, used in theatre for its ability to create an intimate atmosphere and sense of immersion for the audience, these artworks are an ongoing attempt to replicate this personal relationship with the stage on a smaller scale. Emerging through an exploratory approach to materials, texture, and colour, each piece is built up through layers and simultaneously stripped back to reveal a scene on stage that is guided not by a plan but intuitively by the materials themselves and the drive to communicate a sense of nostalgia held by the artist. Behind each artwork is the desire to allow for a moment of quiet, even if brief, and explore wider themes of visual storytelling that are entirely intimate between viewer and artwork.

Amelie’s Wine House is a newly established wine bar at the heart of Bloomsbury’s Store Street. The cosy winehouse offers an extensive wine list, artisanal cheese and seasonal charcuterie. Rotate Gallery’s In the Round aims to foster a sense of place and community for the artworks, artist and audience. Attendees are invited to meet our artists, forge meaningful relationships with art enthusiasts and collectors, and have an immersive encounter with Wroblewska-Fairless’s work.
