Every Monday, 10 sessions, £385
From 25 September 2017 to 27 November 2017, 10am – 5pm

This course looks at the challenge of making drawings of a large public space. It rotates between two tutors on alternate weeks. With one tutor, students explore a complex and busy subject through many drawings, responding to the atmosphere and energy within the place. Later these are worked into a single large drawing away from the subject, in students’ own time. In the alternate sessions, large drawings are produced from direct observation on location. Students will be introduced to the use of perspective in drawing buildings, with an emphasis on the formal problem of maintaining the coherence of the view. This term the course will be held at the Victoria and Albert Museum and at St Paul's Cathedral.
