Using clay coiling* and slab building* techniques participants will design and build plant pots that take the shape of architecture, landscapes and abstract forms. Design the best pot solution for a specific plant and make pots to suit your house or garden space, from mini window ledge containers to patio monster pots. Terracotta plant pot clay will be used with different colours of clay incorporated as pots are being built. Participants will also have the opportunity to glaze their work with a range of colour. Choose from a range of plants provided or bring your favourite plant.
* Coiling is a hand method of forming pottery by building up the walls with coils of rope-like rolls of clay.
*Slab building is the use of rolled slabs of clay to create shapes that could never be produced using a potter’s wheel or that would be difficult to achieve with coiling.
Maximum 10 participants.
All materials provided.
Suitable for beginners. Ages 16+
