Centropia is a series of events inaugurating a new experimental
era of Centrum. Inspired by the concept of Entropy -a situation
defined by lack of order or predictability, disorder, and chaos-
Centropia is a liminal zone, an in-between moment, where
perceived space and time disentangle revealing fragments of a
new reality.

Centropia is a Rite of Passage.

Come. Join the dance.

Grinderteeth, the Berlin-based solo-project of Norwegian Veslemøy Rustad Holseter utilizes a no-boundaries approach to producing, DJ-sets & sound works building experimental beat-textures fused with harmonic improvisation, blending breakbeats with eclectic folk-references.

Sasha Litvintseva and Beny Wagner’s work unfolds along the ever-shifting boundaries of the human body. Organisms and environments are mapped onto a single metabolic pathway where inside and outside continuously fold into each other in rhythmic pulsations.

The work of Eli Cortiñas delves into the ecology of objects and their appearance. Her video essay references labor activities, echoing both present and past, corporeal and cognitive, forms of exploitation. Walls Have Feelings becomes an open archive in process, which not only speaks of political powers and their resulting oppression, it also processes the very aesthetic through which these powers operate.

The atmospheric compositions of Maria w Horn emerge through the manipulation of time and space through sonic extremes - oscillating between minimalist structures and piercing power electronics utilizing both digital and analog synthesis as well as acoustic instruments and audiovisual components.

Vera Chotzoglou’s Rausch is not necessarily presented as a literal intoxication but also as an emotional one. The subject experiences a communion, a spiritual encounter that co-exists with rapture, the division of the soul, its departure from the Sensible World. The body turns into a place of observation.

JD Zazie has explored over the years different approaches of real-time manipulation on fixed recorded sound. In her work, she redefines DJ and electroacoustic activities. As a solo performer, in small groups or large ensembles, she moves in an area that is constantly stretching the borders of what is supposed to be DJ mixing, free improvisation, and composed music.

Maya Shenfeld’s works span from electroacoustic compositions, sound installations and ensemble pieces to performing as a classical, experimental and rock guitarist. In her practice, Shenfeld explores the intersection between modes of musical production used in experimental and popular music. Her interests lie in the embodiment of the listening experience, researching temporality, deep listening, just intonation, and microtonality.
