Centrespace Open Studios 2023 & Craft in the old City

Based in the heart of Bristol’s Old City, tucked away along Leonard Lane (BS1 1EA), Centrespace Cooperative has been supporting artists and makers with affordable studio space for over 45 years. At this Open Studio weekend members welcome you to glimpse the daily life of an artist-led co-op and engage in Bristol’s creative community. The cooperative is made up of a wide range of visual artists including award-winning contemporary craft makers, illustrators, graphic designers, traditional upholsterers, printmakers, animators, fine artists, environmental architectural designers and many more.
 

In addition, there will be a Film Room showcasing our members’ animations and short films. We will also host an Art Raffle and a Cake Parlour to raise funds for new flooring in the events space so that in the future members can host more events for the local creative community.

Weekend Special Guests

Cibomatto, a sustainable cuisine project run by two food-loving Italians, will run a pop-up café all weekend. They will be serving delicious food of high quality made with locally sourced ingredients, all prepared with the expertise they inherited from their families in Italy. 

On Saturday evening there will be an exclusive ticketed party, with live music from Kutamba, a band mixing their love for Zimbabwean music in through a Western fusion to provide a fresh take on some of the world’s most driving and rich music. 

Bristol Mural Collective, a women-led street art collective empowering creatives from all skill levels will be taking to the front of Centrespace Studios on Sunday for a paint jam, where some of the best women mural artists will refresh and invigorate Leonard Lane with their inspiring creations.
