Sareh Imani’s titular multi-channel video projection, Center is not a particular point on the earth’s surface, navigates the making and unmaking of interior space through self-surveillance and the passage of time
About
In the Spring, having found herself confined to her Brooklyn apartment and unable to make work, Imani began obsessively filming her dwelling, herself, and her partner from the vantage of a single stationary camera. Fixed on its tripod, the camera became witness to first the mundane and then the chaotic as Imani and her partner decided to vacate their apartment and move out of the city. The resulting footage is a kaleidoscopic document of change and home.
