In celebration of Pride Month, art'otel Hoxton is proud to present "Celebrating Joy in Resistance," an evocative exhibition by renowned London-based photographer Joel Rodriguez. This collection, specially commissioned for art'otel, captures the multifaceted experiences of the queer community through a series of deeply personal and striking portraits.
Joel Rodriguez's work is known for its attention to light and colour, combining the precision of digital technologies with the nostalgic quality of analogue photography. His global perspective enriches each image, bringing to life the diverse stories of triumph and struggle within the LGBTQ+ community. This exhibition is a tribute to the resilience, activism, and solidarity that have shaped queer identities over the decades.
Each photograph is a visual narrative, portraying moments of defiance, unity, and personal transformation. The participants, each with their own unique backgrounds and journeys, share their stories with vulnerability and pride. These voices behind each story of the exhibition can be read by scanning the QR-code.
