Cavadoras is a performance collective based between Berlin and Naples committed to the study of instant composition, poetry and sound. The name refers to excavators/miners, because the collective search for ways to communicate the imaginative potential of the underground.

About

Perch Arts is pleased to present Cavadoras at the Ringcross Centre.

Cavadoras is a performance collective based between Berlin and Naples committed to the study of instant composition, poetry and sound. The name refers to excavators/miners, because the collective search for ways to communicate the imaginative potential of the underground.

In 'Eine halbe Treppe Tiefer'/ 'Half a step deeper' two dancers, a performance poet and a musician use handheld torches in an otherwise dark space. In this game of light and darkness they expose different spaces and degrees of intimacy while the musician modulates a self-built device that translates light frequencies into sound. Inside the oscillating landscape, the collective body’s task is to communicate the urgency of physical poetry making.

Perch Arts (org. Oisín Davies & Bod Jaman) is an arts programme currently residing at the Ringcross Centre in Holloway, North London. We provide space for experimentation, development and collaboration in an informal setting, and welcome works in progress to be presented to a diverse, curious audience.

Perch want to thank The Pilion Trust for having us. They provide advocacy for vulnerable people with multiple and complex needs, who struggle to access support services, working across inner city London Boroughs to deliver outreach and community based services to individuals, families and young people who have been affected by homelessness, mental health issues, addictions, poverty, hate crime and isolation.

The Trust provides a range of services including: advice/information, assessment, support and key working, care planning, advocacy, GP shared care, relapse prevention; onward referral and outreach street working for the people who are homeless.
