Causing Chaos exhibition - one day symposium: Saturday 2 October

About

To coincide with Fife Contemporary Art & Craft's exhibition ‘Causing Chaos' at St Andrews Museum, a free one day symposium will be held in St Andrews to explore some of the themes in the exhibition. Curated by artist Claire Barclay (who also takes part in the show) is a selection of national and international artists and makers - ceramics by Johannes Nagel, Susanne Petzold, Richard Slee; jewellery and metalwork by Shari Pierce, Estela Saez Vilanova, Hans Stofer; small scale sculpture by Claire herself, Siobhan Hapaska, Jane Simpson. The symposium takes place on Saturday 2 October and combines a unique opportunity to hear talks by Jane Simpson and Richard Slee, take part in a panel discussion with various of the participating artists, take part in an optional pewter casting workshop with Roddy Mathieson and his Alchemy mobile foundry, with general networking opportunities. The day will start at St Andrews Museum then move to the Gateway Building (North Haugh, St Andrews). Those booking for the symposium can also book for a lunch at the Gateway costing £5, or make their own arrangements. The booking form can be downloaded from FCA&C's website (http://www.fcac.co.uk/fcac_programme/search_archive/detail/?type=c&pid=45). For further details please contact FCA&C (tel 01334 474610). The exhibition and associated events have been made possible through a craft development grant from the Scottish Arts Council, now Creative Scotland.
