With Caught in a Landslide, Neuer Berliner Kunstverein (n.b.k.) and KINDL – Centre for Contemporary Art present recent works by international artists who were awarded the 2024 visual arts work stipend of the Berlin Senate.
About
Spanning two venues, the exhibition features works across the mediums of video, installation, painting, sculpture, photography, and performance. Its title, drawn from a line in the 1975 song Bohemian Rhapsody by the British rock band Queen, evokes motifs of liminal spaces, transitions, and threshold states that recur throughout the works on display. It also alludes to the seismic shifts in Berlin’s cultural landscape and the sense of uncertainty felt by many artists as they look to the future.
A project by Neuer Berliner Kunstverein (n.b.k.) in cooperation with KINDL – Centre for Contemporary Art.
The exhibition is supported by the Berlin Senate Department for Culture and Social Cohesion.
