An immersive sound-based performance held in low-lighting exploring disruption of memory and ambiguity of recollection.
About
There is a story, but we can’t remember the details. It has a figure, but its features escape us. You’re my old lover, but I can’t remember your voice.
Freely inspired by Raymond Carver’s short story, ‘Cathedral’ is an audio-based performance taking place in subtle states of low lighting that exposes the audience to the ambiguity of memory and doubt in recollection. Cathedral is a collage of storytelling, immersive sound and physical theatre that goes deep into the realms of memory.
“Fye and Foul Cathedral’s was powerfully intense, engaging and brave” The New Current
“A performance that needs to be experienced not described” Terry Eastham, LondonTheatre1
Cathedral will show at The Pleasance in Islington from 5th-10th of April at 7.45pm. (There is a matinee on Saturday at 2.30pm and a 5pm show on Sunday).
The piece premiered at Richmix in October 2015 and is supported by The Wellcome Trust.
