CAST Film Club presents a free screening of 'The Tempest Society', a film by Bouchra Khalili; introduced by guest curator Adam Pugh.

About

The special January edition of CAST Film Club is guest curated by Adam Pugh, who runs the artists’ moving image programme, Projections, at Tyneside Cinema.

Adam will visit Cornwall to introduce Bouchra Khalili’s film The Tempest Society, which was premiered at documenta 14 in Athens in 2017. Khalili is a Moroccan-French artist and one of five artists shortlisted in 2019 for Artes Mundi 8, the UK’s biggest prize for international contemporary artists.

In The Tempest Society Athenians from different backgrounds call together for equality, civic belonging and solidarity in Greece, Europe and the Mediterranean.

Building on the legacy of Groundwork, CAST Film Club is an ongoing programme of moving image work by British and international artists.

Free admission, all welcome. CAST Café supper from 6pm, something hot and something sweet from £7.50. The film screening will begin at 7pm.
