We are excited to continue the new CAST Film Club season with a screening of 20,000 Days on Earth by Ian Forsyth and Jane Pollard. 20,000 Days on Earth is a bold vision of one of music’s most mysterious and charismatic figures, the iconic Nick Cave.
In their debut feature directors Iain Forsyth & Jane Pollard fuse drama and documentary by weaving a cinematically staged day in Cave’s life with never-before- seen verité observation of his full creative cycle.
20,000 Days On Earth takes us deep into the heart of how myth, memory, love and loss, shape our lives, every single day. A line in Cave's songwriting notebook calculating how many days he'd been alive inspired the film's title. The film delves into Nick’s artistic processes, unpicking the stuff that makes him tick.
20,000 Days on Earth premiered at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival, where it won the World Cinema Documentary awards for for directing and editing.
CAST Film Club, curated by Kelly Taylor, screens artists' films on a monthly basis. CAST Cafe prepares food from 6.30pm, something hot and something sweet for £6. The screening is free to attend and there is no need to make a reservation.
