Although French, Isabelle and Jean-Conrad Lemaître have lived in London for a number of years. They began collecting contemporary art in 1983. Their collection includes painting, sculpture and photography, but their focus over the past ten years has been video art. This deep interest in video art has its origin in their passion for cinema. The Lemaîtres have been generous in showing their video art at home and in lending works to exhibitions. In Spring 2006, La Maison Rouge/Fondation Antoine de Galbert, Paris showed an exhibition of 25 selected works from the Lemaître's video collection curated by Christine Van Assche (Curator at the Centre Pompidou) and staged by the artist Didier Faustino.
