About
For Moving Image Contemporary Video Art Fair 2012, Carroll/Fletcher present John Wood and Paul Harrison's Tall Buildings, 2011, a video in which the passage of time is measured and duly noted through a sequence of interconnected vignettes. As the camera tracks down what appears to be the outside of a building looking in to a series of identical office rooms, a range of bureaucratic and other activities are carried out. The narrative that emerges is ambiguous, but with a pervasive sadness reminiscent of some un-named tragedy. While some views show rigorously executed experiments with office furniture, others show a lone figure looking for ways to pass the time.
