Caro is Britain's most distinguished living artist. In his career spanning over six decades Caro transformed the potential and public appreciation, of abstract art through creating sculptures in steel and other materials. His reputation is of a risk-taker and to create the unexpected. His international reputation was confirmed with a retrospective held at New York's Museum of Modern Art in 1975, since when his productivity and inventiveness have never never slowed as he has found new audiences for abstract art across the globe.
