About

From September 2012, The Civic in Barnsley is delighted to welcome Carney Academy of Performing Arts. CAPA is run by professional theatre director Ruth Carney, and counts Russell Tovey (The History Boys, Gavin & Stacey, Being Human) Ian Reddington (Coronation Street, Eastenders, RSC) and Lena Kaur (Hollyoaks) as its patrons. CAPA is an exciting performing arts school for ages 8 years through to adult which focuses on drama as a tool for building confidence, social and vocal skills, as well as developing performance and professional theatre skills. At the heart of this is the fact that CAPA's classes are taught by people working successfully in the business. Dates and costs for autumn term: The autumn term is 14 weeks long. Its starts on the 8th September 2012 through to the 15th December 2012 (no class the week of the 27th October). The price per hour works out at £6.50.
