Curator Dena D'Angelo is proud to present Carlos Buitrago, a distinguished artist born in Colombia and raised in California.
This body of work reflects the exhilarating and unpredictable nature of journey, drawing parallels between the physical trails one traverses and inner paths of self-discovery. Canvases are saturated with vivid intricacies of color, geometric patterns, and organic forms that transform the human condition into a multi-faceted visual dialogue.
Buitrago’s work stirs the emotions, fills the viewer with wonder, and brilliantly blends abstraction, expressionism, and a modern nod to Cubism. The tender stories that accompany the work are on their own worthy of contemplation. They are of tales of resilience; so important at this current time in Los Angeles.
