A new exhibition by Carlo Roselli at Edarcom Europa Art Gallery.
About
On Friday, June 16 at 5:30 p.m., the Edarcom Europa Gallery, at 12 Macedonia Street in Rome, will inaugurate the exhibition Tutto il mondo è un teatro by Carlo Roselli, curated by Francesco Ciaffi and Alice Crisponi. The artist presents about thirty works (paintings, silkscreens and etchings) created over the past twenty years on the 50th anniversary of his first solo exhibition held in 1973 at the N.F.1 gallery in Rome.
In the catalog published for the exhibition, Alice Crisponi observes that "Bisques, clubs and nightclubs crowd together in a rich and convivial atmosphere. Carlo Roselli's mundane interiors denounce an imaginary fin de siècle setting, as the theme of play and amusement takes over from the eager of modern life. Crowding and inhabiting these spaces are numerous figures all rendered indistinctly as protagonists; they betray a theatrical staging that unveils the artist's architectural compositional will. Men and women, in faultless choreography for the benefit of the audience, merely inhabit Carlo Roselli's works. They express themselves with their mere presence, without hinting at the development of the present moment."
The exhibition will be on view with free admission until July 1.
