Join us for this thought-provoking evening talk on Italian art historian, critic and revolutionary feminist Carla Lonzi, with Luisa Lorenza Corna, lecturer in Art Theory and Visual Culture at UWE and art historian Francesco Ventrella from the University of Sussex.
Together Corna and Ventrella will explore the multifaceted nature of Carla Lonzi's work and consider its contemporary legacy. The conversation will draw inspiration from Corna's recent translation of some of Lonzi's texts into English (Carla Lonzi. Feminism in Revolt, edited by Corna and Mascat) and Ventrella's reframing of Lonzi’s thinking in relation to 1960s and 1970s art and culture in Italy (Feminism and Art in Postwar Italy: The Legacy of Carla Lonzi, edited by Ventrella and Zapperi).
The event is organised in conjunction with the temporary exhibition Sergio Strizzi: The Perfect Moment.
