About

Students will be taken through a brief history of caricature, looking at its origins and at the different styles of its practitioners. We will observe and analyse not only the proportions of the face but also its expressions and movements, highlighting appropriate characteristics to arrive at an accurate description of personality. Students will spend a day caricaturing the great and the good from the vast collections at the National Portrait Gallery and will draw from the life model and video in the studio to observe both everyday faces and famous personalities. Nicola Jennings' caricature work began with The London Daily News in 1987 and she has since worked for The Daily Mirror, The Observer and The Guardian. Her television work includes animated cartoons for Channel 4's A Week in Politics, stills and title sequences for political documentaries and drawing live on BBC2's Midnight Hour. www.nicolajennings.co.uk Held at Charlotte Road and the National Portrait Gallery To book please visit www.princesdrawingschool.org or contact the office on 020 7613 8568
