‘Contemplations’ is a selection of 30 uniquely stunning artworks. Carey uses recycled found materials for canvases, building upon each surface with egg tempera, gold leaf and walnut ink creating outstandingly individual paintings that are truly mesmerising.
“My paintings are informed by a life lived walking in the wild, foraging, working on the land, or in my studio, a haven of books, objects and painting materials, the very same that painters have used for millennia. Hours can pass staring at the world I inhabit, time stands still, all is timeless, trapped in the image, something resonates.”
