New and recent works by Cara Tolmie and Nina Rhode. A rare opportunity to see the work of these two artists within Scotland. Through recursive techniques in story-telling and optics, both artists make multi-layers, multi-disciplined installations. Cara Tolmie's practice spans installation, performance, video, music, text and spoken word. Her exhibition at DCA, Read Thou Art And Read Thou Shalt Remain, will feature a specially recorded performance that is projected in a designed installation. Nina Rhode presents Friendly Fire, her first solo exhibition in the United Kingdom, including her celebrated resonant spinning sculptures investigating perception. These kinetic wheels rotate to play tricks with the eye and hypnotise the viewer into a state of relaxed happiness.
