About
Immerse yourself in artist Cara Rainbow’s latest installation, Stories, in the Cardew Space, Morley College.
In this installation, The Cardew Space is consumed by Rainbows visual interpretation of a cityscape. Both walls have a concrete landscape. City buildings are packed in tightly and digital faces appear from the holes in the walls.
Cara will animate every Thursday from 1-2pm with live performances and embody buildings and cities, reciting stories that could have taken place in city environments such as Birmingham or Detroit. Her installation features a painted cityscape with digital inhabitants, blurring fiction and reality, creating a surreal space which encourages the viewer to consider their identity and place within the city.
Cara is the recipient of the 2016-17 Morley College Zsuzsi Roboz Scholarship. The Zsuzi Roboz scholarship provides the recipient a one year part-time programme of free classes, personal tutoring from a professional artist and teacher, and an opportunity to exhibit work at Morley Gallery. The scholarship is offered in memory of the celebrated painter Zsuzsi Roboz.
